Areas of Practice

Children

The goal of child counseling, however, is to break down problems into manageable parts, so children can better understand and cope with them.

Child counseling is a type of therapy that focuses on young children, teens, and adolescents with one or more mental illnesses. It also provides aid to youths, who have experienced trauma, and/or who are experiencing a dysfunctional or stressful home environment.

Many of the issues these children face mimic the issues adults face in their day-to-day lives. Some of these common issues include anxietydepression, and grief.

Adults

Seeking counseling as an adult can bring light to these seemingly unmanageable life stressors.

Life’s events can be quite unpredictable. In a very short period of time, we can move from smooth sailing to complete turmoil. For some, coping with the stressors of everyday life can be overwhelming. None of us are immune from experiencing crises or trauma in our lives. Seemingly, insignificant events can build up to the point of feeling unmanageable.

Most of us are not trained nor prepared to tackle the difficulties of life such as the death of a loved one, divorce, job loss, rejection, or family problems.

Couples

“Couples therapy can address a wide range of relationship issues, including recurring conflicts, feelings of disconnection, an affair, issues related to sex, or difficulties due to external stressors”.

Couples Therapy is a form of Psychotherapy that can help you and your partner improve your relationship. If you are having relationship difficulties, you can seek couples therapy to help rebuild your relationship.

Trauma

Trauma can continue to cause both emotional and physical symptoms for many years after the event has concluded.

A powerful emotional response to a distressing event, such as war, an accident, the unexpected loss of a loved one, or abuse.
